Late 18th-early 19th century. 8 5/8” wedge section blade with false edge half its length and the back with hound’s tooth and dot motif for the balance. Fine bone grip with double roped and reeded base. The balance four ranks with alternate reeded and twisted wire segments flanking broad rounded tapered segments. The base with banded tapered ferrule and intricate modeled rococo guard. Scalloped edge radially fluted pommel. Original leather covered sheath with silver throat band. Leather slightly shrunk as expected but complete with the back seam tight as made.
