Late 19th century of particularly elongated form wood hilt with broad faceted crested pommel. The face overlaid in engraved silver. Matching medial band and base mount. Silver faced scabbard engraved in matching stylized foliage with two raised transverse  beaded edge bands. Reverse in brass over copper, in matching skillful execution. 10 ¼” curved blade with broad and double narrow fullers, made from a Spanish broadsword, most likely captured in the colonial battles of the  mid 19th century. The only such jambiya blade that we have seen. Shows its age with wear but no significant damage or losses. Great character dating to the early resistance to Spanish colonialism.
