Second half of the 19th century. 20 ½” in length, covered in braided leather with leaf-shaped terminal. The grip removes to reveal an 11” rectangular section tool-finished stiletto blade. The surface with maroon painted finish. Some wear and flaking to the finish. The tip was not worn and evidently saw no equestrian use. Probably carried as a weapon disguised as a riding accessory.
