1831 lithograph by William Hall. Edward Pellew, 1st Viscount Exmouth (1757–1833) in admiral’s full-dress uniform. He was a distinguished British Royal Navy officer, politician, and one of the most celebrated frigate captains of the Age of Sail. Known for his daring seamanship, tactical brilliance, and leadership during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, initially as a lieutenant on HMS Alarm, he participated in amphibious operations and captured several American privateers during the Revolution. Another example of this print is in the Royal Museums, Greenwich, #PAD4510. Finely engraved and professionally matted to 8” x 10” for an off the shelf frame from Michael’s, Walmart etc. Genuine 190 year old original.
