FINE VIKING WEDDING RING, 900-1050 AD, SIZE 5 ¾

Gilt bronze, size 5 3/4. Broad, 3.8mm band with recessed edges and flanking the broad lattice work medial. Crisp preservation. While all Viking rings are about 1000 years or older, they vary in condition depending on their burial environment. Rings buried in the ground are generally surface degraded. Rings buried in hoards, usually sealed ceramic jars, can be in near perfect preservation as here. The 24karat gold surface restored for modern wear.
