EUROPEAN GORGET C.1620-50

Thirty years War and English Civil Wars period. Made in two pieces, hinged with a key slot fastener opposite. Each with a rolled edge raised neck segment. The front is decorated with brass rosettes and rivets (well worn), and engraved in pairs of radial bands. The left side with repair to each plate. Quite smooth overall with mottled patina. Fine display for a helmet of the period. Much of the armor used in the Thirty Years War (1618-48) was reused in the English Civil Wars of 1642-51.
