Second half of the 18th century. Large proportions. 20 3/4" overall length. 13 3/4" .69 caliber barrel, tapered through its length with sighting top flat and blade front sight. V groove rear sight. Iron furniture, well chiseled in rococo motifs. Walnut full stock with dummy ramrod and copper barrel band added by its Ottoman owner. Good quality and excellent preservation. Iron mounted pistols made for the Turkish market are very rare, requiring significantly more labor to produce resulting in higher prices. Fine large example.
