WWI. 22” height plus the handle. Canvas lined heavy leather, cylindrical with reinforcing bands top and bottom. The front with hand painted royal arms of England over a large branded N (navy). The broad arrow above. The bottom marked George G Bussy & Crew London. Known as Clarkston cases and used to carry artillery charges of cordite which was loaded separately behind the projectile. The construction provided a fire and spark proof vehicle for transport from the magazine to the gun. Original throughout with excellent royal arms and minor scuffs. The handle with repaired crack.
