Third quarter of the 19th century. Brass hilt of “Russian pattern” which retains some earlier elements including the boat form guard, here with a folding side guard. See Swords and Daggers, Wagner, p.216 #194. Stout straight cross guard with matching knuckle bow screwed to the olive form pommel. Barrel form silver wire wrapped grip. 30 ½” diamond section blade marked T K & P (?) at the forte with maker’s logo and pattern numbers. The first half etched in generic military motifs. Curious variant.
