MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN SIDE OR BELT KNIFE C.1200-1400

Forged iron, 9 1/2” length with thin wedge section blade tapered through its length. The right side with a shallow back fuller. Integral tapered tang pierced with three holes for attachment of antler or bone scales. The blade of thin fighting section, not intended as a working knife and showing no loss from sharpening as would a working knife. Rare example from the Gothic period.
