MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN RING, C.15TH-16TH CENTURY, SIZE 8

Gilt bronze with original blue “stone” probably glass. Size 8 with 1.5mm rounded face band flared to the foliate decorated shoulders. Tall cylindrical bezel mounted with the blue “stone” evidently a flat back cabochon. Excellent preservation. From Fulbeck Hall, Lincolnshire, England, home of the noble Fane family. The contents of Fulbeck Hall were sold by Sotheby's in October 2002. This ring was part of that sale. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
