Brandenburg Dragoon Regiment No.2, with the blade so marked and Fur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit (in memory of my military service). The mottoes flanked by foliage, mounted dragoon and horse portrait, crossed cannons and German eagle. Plated hilt (back strap with smooth wear) and wire wrapped grip. Blued scabbard. Blade length, 31 3/8". Raised in 1866, the Second Brandenburg Dragoons served in the Franco-Prussian War.
