TONGAN WAR CLUB

WWII returned item which traveled the Pacific Theater. 19” length with diamond band and hound’s tooth decoration inlaid with a brown resinous substance. Of substantial age at the time of its acquisition with wear, and some damages.  Inscribed Tarawa (Gilbert Islands)  MugMug (?), Manila and Philippines Islands. A Polynesian War Club with a history of its own which traveled with a GI in the War.
