Early 20th century. Slightly over 4” length, rectangular with slightly domed lid, hand painted with an image of Kraljevic Marko, King of Serbia and Western Macedonia 1371-95. Elegant portrait mounted with a lance. The bottom with German and a American patent references dating it to 1907, turbulent days of Serbian nationalism after the 1903 government overthrow and leading up to WWI.
