Also known as Yamantaka, a wrathful manifestation of the bodhisattva Mañjuśrī in Vajrayana (Tibetan) Buddhism. Just over 1 ¾” (1.76”) height, silver (marked .825) in full relief. The head modeled with horns and slowing whiskers. Black stone (jet?) eyes and red coral tongue protruding. Beautifully detailed, on original 16” tubular silver neck chain. Probably dating to the 1950’s exodus from Tibet of Buddhism driven out by communist Chinese.
