CONGOLESE SLAVER’S SPEAR HEAD

19^th century, from the Baptist Missionary Society Collection. 13 ½” length, forged iron with leaf shaped point. Finely forged with a delicate medial offset and  butted seam conical socket. Brown with some very old raised arrested oxidation, undoubtedly there when collected in the late 19^th century. Among the “curiosities” which were circulated in England o n Mission Sunday to raise money for the missions.
