One piece with elaborately pierced and relief decorated crested grip including and applied full relief heart, the only such example known to us. Dark patina and some defects, still, a spectacular example warranting Armitage’s interest. Gold dust was the currency of the slave trade, in which the Ashanti were very active at the time.
