Used to clear brush and fashion blinds from which American troops fired on the British, fascine knives were officially issued during the Revolution. American blacksmith made, 15 ¼” length, with heavy forge iron wedge section blade and horn grip with iron base ferrule. In its very rare original leather scabbard with primitively tooled throat mount. Acquired about 1965 in Peabody Mass from Harold Kelly.
