MOROCCAN SHORTSWORD NIMCHA, LATE 19th-EARLY 20th CENTURY AD

Late 19th early 20th century, the period of French and Spanish colonization (protectorates) and Ottoman influence. 9” curved, tool finished wedge section blade. Each side with a lenticular band over repeated Islamic crescents. Recurved iron guard. Wood hilt and scabbard with white metal wire work and red pigment inlays. Small chip to the pommel. The inlay complete. Faceted brass base ferrule to the grip. Quite crisp with minor staining to the tool finished blade.
