Ex: John Woodman Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester, MA. Forged iron, 3 5/8” x 2 ¼” with rounded corners. Pierced with two key slots and a sliding channel for rivet fastener. Reverse with original chiseled assembly mark. Splints were articulated armor comprised of plates which were fastened by riveted leather, sliding joints or riveted directly to provide flexible plate.
