Made in three pieces. Upper lame with rolled and roped edge and sunken border above another strengthening rib. The base with a turning knuckle engaging the main plate. Lower articulated plate with roped upper edge, secured by fine brass surfaced rivets. The back end of that plate defective. A major element demonstrating two methods of articulation which provided the wearer the agility to perform in combat. Ex: John Woodman Higgins Museum with identification number inside.
