Elegant example of the Viking blacksmith’s art with the striker bar terminal and finger loop terminal both ending in delicate scrolls. It is interesting, though not studied to our knowledge, that nowhere else in Viking blacksmithing are these subtle and sometimes whimsical details incorporated. This example is further distinguished by the decoration on the boat shaped body. It is double line bordered enclosing a continuous scrolling serpentine band.
