Bronze, tear-shaped with a stirrup form end and original, hinged securing plate with rivet intact. At the time, legionary’s sword belts had split ends with two terminals. See Forum Ancient Coins 40th and 41st images for identical examples and a very specific scholarly discussion of these. This example is just over 2 5/8” (2.62”) total length.
