Terracotta. 3 ½” length of characteristic form with high top comprising a platform with raised edge wick and filler holes connected by a lineal decorated ramp. The shoulders with circular or scrolling decorations. Brown slip over buff terra cotta. Worn from burial. The Herodians evolved in the Levant with mixed Greek culture and Jewish religion. It is thought that they united to restore the Herodian Dynasty to the throne in Judea.
