While it is claimed by some that the wounds inflicted by triangular arrowheads were more lethal and more difficult to heal, that claim is disputed by others, our conclusion is that it provided superior penetration to leather armor by reducing surface friction and in fact is the precursor of the Medieval bodkin arrow.
