Pre-classic period figure of a deity or shaman in a mask. The extremely elaborate headdress is indicative of great importance. The face with impressed eyes, long hair, ear spools and parrot like beak 7 5/8” height, reddish terracotta. Well preserved with light residue from burial in protected places. Acquired in the 1950s by a Detroit doctor who wintered in Mexico.
