Evidently depicting a wealthy or privileged figure, seated with a tablet in his hands. Ahead, a driver sits on crossed legs. The cart is boat shaped with a lath floor. Entirely carved from ivory, assembled in 12 pieces and very skillfully executed. The driver's hands have small holes, evidently to hold reins and there likely was an animal ahead originally. The driver wears a knotted head cover, but not a turban and the passenger wears a sun hat, suggesting a Himalayan origin. Fine patina and definitely antique. 4 5/8" length. Plexiglas prop included.

Items containing ivory cannot be shipped outside of the U.S. or in the states of CA, HI, IL, NV, NY, NJ, NH, OR, and WA.
