Dr. Wall Period, C.1770-83 with the blue crescent mark underglaze. 6 1/8” diameter, Shanked body with scalloped rim. Inside rim with cobalt blue band overlaid in gold stylized flower buds. The bottom with blue band and gilt leaves. Central gold sunburst. The exterior with alternate gold foliage sprigs and butterflies. Usual glaze flaws otherwise excellent with minor wear to the gold on the rim. The Worcester factory was established to compete with Chinese export porcelain and its products were well represented in affluent Colonial American homes.
