VIKING LUNAR PENDANT 800-1000AD

Silvered bronze formed as the crescent moon with shallow scalloped edge and light incised border one side. Clearly an allusion to the Viking battle axe bit as well. Over 1 1/8” height (1.18”) silvered bronze. As both farmers and sea farers, the moon, personified as Mani, was a fundamental part of Viking pagan mythology. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored on an 18” sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
