Pilgrim and early Crusades period. Silvered bronze, just over 2 1/2” height with slightly flared form beams. The crossbeam above the center. The front with hand-scribed Corpus Christy now quite faded from wear and burial. The back recessed for the inclusion of a sacred relic. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and suspended from a Sterling silver mounted polished leather neck cord. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Its size strongly suggests a member of the clergy (priest or bishop) or royalty, as it would be considered presumptuous for a commoner.
