BYZANTINE SORCERER’S RING 400-700 AD, SIZE 10 1/4

Roman styling but dating after the Fall of Rome and the beginning of the Dark Ages. Gilt bronze, size 10 ¼ with 4.2mm rounded face band with stepped reeded decoration flanking the oval bezel. Raised bezel with floral decorated angled sides and line bordered central scrolling figure based on the lituus symbol used by earlier Roman augurs to represent the wand (lituus) used to divine the future. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored.
