US 1872 PATTERN CAVALRY OFFICER’S SWORD

See The American Sword, Peterson #86. Custer era and showing distinctive Western Frontier character. 32" broad fullered blade unmarked. Brass hilt with three bar guard and wire wrapped leather covered grip (minor wear). The iron scabbard, with about 40% original plating, with brown rusting to the balance. Tip mount lacking. Blade crisp with a little smooth finger staining. Early Custer era example with great age appearance which exudes Western/cowboy character.
