The text in very deep relief and possibly printed damp. The details in brown ink. Reverse with specifics of the payment. The Treaty of Paris ended the war on September 3, 1783. Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown VA Oct 19, 1781. Fighting continued in the interval with general de-escalation. Lieutenant Murray evidently completed an enrollment and was paid for his service.
