One piece cow horn, 3 1/8” length, with decorative baluster turned end, hollowed to measure the charge for the Pennsylvania Long Rife. The opposite end pierced for a cord. See Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Revolutionary War, Neumann, p.155 #38. The accuracy of the long rifle depended on precise measurement of the charge.
