Knights of Pythias Uniformed Rank Sword & Scabbard. The premier sword for elite members of the Knights of Pythias. Gilt hilt with lion head pommel and three bar guard based on the 1872 cavalry officer’s sword. Beaded band wrapped ray skin covered grip. 31” curved plated blade decorated with floral panels, African natives before a temple, and, interestingly, a standing couple embracing. The forte marked THE HENDERSON AMES COMPANY KALAMAZOO MICH, dating it to before 1933.  Gilt brass mounted plated scabbard with some plating missing. Rarely encountered and of fine quality and proud form.
