CONFEDERATE COIN BUTTON GETTYSBURG

About 1 1/8” diameter, brass or alloy, originally plated with considerable remnants intact. Plain flat front with back loop base (intact) to accommodate thick fabric. A civilian button used on a hand sewn officers coat, torn from the uniform during the battle. The edge with a clear sword strike accounting for its loss. Purchased at a “relic shack” outside the Gettysburg battlefield in the late 1960’s.
