About identical to the example from the Harold Peterson collection, found at Fort Ticonderoga, and illustrated in American Indian Tomahawks, Peterson, #37 and Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, Neumann, #26.A. 3 3/8” (3.38”) height of slightly backswept rectangular form with lenticular (Peterson calls it tear shaped) eye. This example in far superior condition to the above, with frosty original surface. The upper half of the left side with some stable rust incursion only. Clear evidence of a hardened edge forged to the softer body. Rare form and exceptional preservation.
