Fine example in delicately worked contrasting horn, about 3 3/8” (3.43”) height with horn bottom. Evidently displayed after its retirement with the polished finish excellent. Testament to the age is the minor worm damage to the edge and a single large patch to one side. This evidently indicates that it sat undisturbed where insects attacked the back, avoiding the light. Dice cups were used to assure a fair throw, whereas, a skilled player, throwing by hand, could “flick” the dice with some degree of success to increase his chances.
