Riha (Die romischen Fibeln aus Augst und Kaiseraugst) type B6 with tubular pin hinge. Bronze, 1 5/8” length of delicate form, probably for a lady’s garment. Transversely ribbed bow with a central plate flanked by nub projections. The hand ribbed detail intact. The fibula is the original safety pin, used to fasten garments and serving as decorative jewelry as well.
