Good old example, probably collected about 1910 by which time British colonial had returned following the peace of the Second Boer war. 11” diameter, 7” height, including the lid. Cylindrical with shallow pitched top. Fine coil work with regular patterned triangles of the binging. Evidently collected unused, but showing its age with uniform slight darkening of the top for atmospheric exposure. A couple coils of the lid lip with some wrap deteriorated/lacking. As it was carefully preserved, it possibly even could date to the Anglo-Zulu War of the 1870s. and is suitable for display with related items.
