16 ½” length. Natural cow horn shaved to translucent thickness and mounted with white metal rim and tail connected with a chain. The horn showing distinct patterns, perhaps representing runes. The rim with relief decoration of a procession of dancers, perhaps in Celtic tradition and interestingly made with an inner and outer layer resulting in an overlap to the horn lip and the decoration not being reflected inside the cup. The tail piece with scrolling motif and ball terminal. We found no matching examples among those commercially available. Those most similar were made for weddings. Very well made quality example.
