Danelaw England. Forged iron, just under 4 3/4" length with a leaf-shaped point, proudly ridged one side and low ridged the other. Tapered tang for securing to the shaft. Sound excavated condition. A raider used where adversaries are protected by thick or reinforced garments of wool or leather.
