10th-11th century. Good form and exceptional preservation with considerable original surface to the blade. 5 1/2" length with blade of characteristic down curved point form. Tapered "whittle tang" originally set into a bone, antler or wood grip. This is the classic fighting knife used in hand to hand fighting for throat slashing.   Excavated and professionally conserved with Plexiglas display easel and certificate of authenticity.
