Fine example, 10th-11the century AD. Forged iron, 5 7/8” total length. Thin wedge sections blade for fighting, with slightly dropped point and tapered tang for seating in a grip. Fighting knives had thin blades which provided greater agility from reduced weight along with a keener cutting edge. Excavated and professionally conserved with Plexiglas display easel.
