11th century, silver, not plated, about 5/8” width. Formed as a broad crescent representing the moon personified as Mani, pierced with five circles which undoubtedly were a reference to a cosmic event with spiritual significance. Worn, from the time of its use, perhaps ritually. All silver is made on a modern Sterling silver 18" neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
