9th-10th century AD. Mellon form, just under 5/8” diameter. Well preserved with uniform surface wear. Large stringing hole with original impacted earth from burial, easily removed. Vikings valued beads over gold and have been known to make beads as ransom or tribute to call off raids. Wonderful Viking relic and a fine centerpiece for modern jewelry creation.
