Wire wrapped leather grip. 28 1/2” d.e. blade decorated with US flag splays and foliage and officer’s name. Retailer’s name, Warnock Inc. New York to the forte. That maker is listed as active 1838-66 “selling M1860 Staff & Field Officer’s swords”, thus dating this example to the Civil War. Fine scabbard with original blue intact. About as good as they come for the period.
