19 1/2" length. Carved from one piece of wood with characteristic diamond shape and section head on elongated swelled hilt with pointed thrusting butt. The head decorated both sides with hound's tooth borders in the Fijian taste. The front with double bands and an additional V motif. Shows age with grain raised and deep patina. Tonga famously was visited by Capt. Cook in the 1770s and English missionaries had settled by 1797.
