Ottoman period. 4 3/4” d.e. blade of characteristic form with medial ridge and central seal with profuse Arabic inscription to the front. White metal sheath incised decoration and wire work bands. Hilt matching chiseled decoration. Hilt and sheath with inset red and green “stones”. Six suspension rings to the sheath. Excellent for the period with good character. The latter part of Syria’s inclusion in the Ottoman Empire.
