Shaped wood hilt of typical form (Stone Fig. 106 #11) with silver base ferrule. Three piece scabbard with black horn tip, blonde tiger stripe stem and fine burl wood throat mount. 7 1/8" blade of pattern welded steel with meandering linear pattern along the edge which breaks through the core steel resulting in two small interruptions of the metal along the back. The pattern clearly indication its intention and the only such example we have seen. Blade deeply etched with some old oxidation mixed in. Integral iron bolster. Good early example.
